Talk about misconception

I have been doing something called Body Sculpt for the past month. I will actually begin my 5th week this coming Monday. I have been a runner but needed more strength training in my life. Who am I kidding, I just needed an hour everyday to get out on my own:) I love my children and I feel blessed to be able to stay home but, with Jeff gone, I just needed a little bit of time for me! Thought instead of going to the mall I would do something productive. It has actually been one of the best fitness decisions of my life. So, in the midst of singing ABC's and changing diapers, and grad work,  I have been thinking a lot about fitness. Today, I was getting my hair done! Much needed by the way! It's been way too long. Anyway, I was reading one of those coffee table magazines. Since my renewed interest in weight lifting, I have been reading a lot on how to obtain more muscle mass.  It was here that I saw it!  You know, the headline on the cover that states "How to get a flat stomach. Strategies that really work!" Well, you know I turned to page 168 looking for the ultimate guide to obtaining that 6 pack and...the article featured 6 well known celebrities boasting about their diet of no bread! OMGosh! Just goes to show you that the content does NOT necessarily match the title! I had to laugh at myself once again!  Even though I am sure to continue my search for the end all be all strategy for perfection, I have to laugh at these misleading magazine articles!  Who writes these anyway?

Alex and his sense of humor!

ALREADY?  At only 2 years old, my son is a bit on the sarcastic side.  He has a way of expressing almost adult like dry humor.  The other day we were at my dad's house.  He began twirling himself around and then acting like he was dizzy and falling flat to the ground.  He gained so many laughs that he continued to do it.  Today, he was running around and kissing things saying, "Mommy kiss, baby kiss, etc."  He got to Elmo and made one Elmo kiss the other.  He then began to say, "Oooooo...Elmo kiss Elmo."  He is so funny and I swear I am not just saying that because he is my son.  I think I would be great friends with him if he wasn't my boy!  When did he become so funny?  How do they learn these things?  Is is innate?  Was Jerry Seinfeld a funny little boy?  Who knows!  I can't wait to see what he does next!

My Old Nissan

I could not believe it!  As I came out of work out last week, there it was!  Sitting right in front of me, my old Nissan!  This was the car that got me through the entirety of college.  This was the car that was basically rebuilt due to numerous accidents (not all my fault people!)  This was the car that I told Jeff was super fast!  Even though it was a 4 cylinder that when you gunned it, would go about 5 miles per hour for 2 minutes before reaching peak speed of 35!   This was the car that had an automatic starter, to which I flooded the engine with several times.  My husband loved that one!  All of a sudden, a rush of memories came back to me in an instant!  Ahh, college days-when you were so poor but so happy!

Hey all! I am in the midst of one of my last three graduate classes. This class is all technology based. It has prompted me to get my blog up and running again. Life is so crazy right now with the move, school, the new baby, Jeff's new job, the house renovation! AHHH! Anyways, I thought it would be a great way for me to relax at night and post before bed. Also, I am attempting to keep better track of my life and the lives of my kids so that maybe one day, they can view this blog as a sort of "Running Record" of our years together! So, I am going to try it again!

Crazy Man Alex

We are amazed at how much Alex has grown. He is definitely his own little person now with one vivacious personality. He spends a lot of time talking to Jeff and me, himself and his toys. He won't sit still-not even for a second. This is truly one of the most fun times in our lives:)

Life

For those of you who don't know, I just got a brand new job. I am still teaching 2nd grade but now I am in the public school system. I will be teaching at Pullen Elementary which is right down from our house. I am very excited but pretty overwhelmed. It is hard enough to put together a classroom but even more difficult when attempted 4 weeks into the school year:) It was mean to be and I am super excited. I am always up for a challenge and excited to model this "taking chances and working hard" attitude for Alexander. We are slowly but surely finishing up the house. Jeff and I just renovated a room and made it into an office. It is wonderful and I love doing my Grad work in here! He has also finished a lot of trim and the staircase. They look wonderful! It is really starting to feel like a home! Alexander is now eating carrots and loving every minute of it. He truly has a love affair with food as Daddy says! More to come...
